Argentina to Return to Capital Markets with New Bonds

Argentina's Economy Minister, Luis Caputo, confirmed today that the country will return to the capital markets with a 4-year bond (November 2029) and a 6.5% coupon. 'This is not new debt. By refinancing maturities, every dollar we buy can be accumulated. It is to pay old debt,' Caputo clarified. He also added: 'The bonds are under local legislation, as of January 2018.' The IMF insists that Argentina must meet the reserve target.
